The auction house’s CJ du Toit says the face-brick, double-storey home on offer is located in the tranquil coastal village of Yzerfontein, just 85km north of Cape Town, off the R27.
The attractions of the popular holiday resort town include its famous 16-Mile beach, which stretches north of the main beach at Yzerfontein up to the West Coast National Park, close to Langebaan, and is claimed by many to be the longest uninterrupted sandy beach on South Africa’s coastline, he says.
The town also offers opportunities for holidaymakers and residents to fish from the beach and rocks, collect mussels and catch crayfish. “In addition, boats and jet-skis can be launched from its small-craft harbour, and the bay is popular for body-boarding and kite-surfing.”
The property up for auction - 14 Luitekatz Road, Yzerfontein (Erf 882) – has a total extent of 1 047m². “The home is accessed from the roadway via its first floor entrance, and on this level there is an open-plan living area with pitched high ceilings, a fireplace and aluminium sliding doors that lead to a balcony with spectacular ocean views,” he says. “The first floor also includes an open-plan fitted kitchen with scullery; a guest toilet and one of the home’s four bedrooms.”
Stairs from the entrance lead down to the ground floor, where the three other bedrooms are located. “The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom.
“Additional features include a well-maintained landscaped garden, a bathroom for domestic workers and a double garage.”

The terms and conditions of the auction include a 10 percent deposit plus commission on the fall of the hammer, with the balance payable on transfer. A copy of each bidder’s identity document and proof of residence will be required for auction registration.
